President's Q1 Update
I am thrilled to share some exciting updates since being elected as the President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Australia (TCCA) 3 months ago. I am grateful to be leading such an experienced and enthusiastic team.
First and foremost, I want to introduce the office bearers of our team. Andrew Cheng serves as our Secretary General and takes on the role of Vice President together with Peter Wang and Johnson Yeh. For Treasurer we are honoured to have Tracy Chang to take on this role. Additionally, we have a knowledgeable Supervisor board led by Sonia Chen, working alongside Bob Cheng and Paul Huang. Their guidance will be invaluable in shaping our strategies moving forward. On our board of directors also sit (alphabetically) Andy Lin, Charles Shiao, Elizabeth Yeh, Jeffery Wang, Jim Wong, Johnny Lee Katherine Chang, Phil Chan, Thomas Ko, Vivienne Wang, and Yen Ho.
My vision for TCCA aligns with its core mission: promoting social and cultural exchanges within Australia and fostering collaboration among Taiwanese business professionals in the region. I am committed to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, driving growth and prosperity within our business community.
Drawing from my experience as the Chief Strategy Officer at Gomaji Taiwan and General Manager of Nature's Care Global, I hope to bring valuable expertise and strategic vision to our esteemed organization. As a second-generation operator, taking on the role of TCCA Presidency inspires me to focus not only on introducing new ideas but also on building upon the experience of our founding members.
In the past 3 months we continued the footsteps of former TCCA President and current TCCO President Erica Liu in supporting the Taiwan Film Festival as the hosting sponsor and partner for this cultural event which aims to showcase the best of Taiwanese cinema to Australian audiences.
We also welcomed Mr. David Wu into his role as the Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. His involvement will undoubtedly fortify the connections and boost collaboration between entrepreneurs and corporations across our nations.
Late in July we partnered up with my alma mater, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University’s Australia Alumni chapter in arranging the first of our many Entrepreneur Networking Discussions. The purpose of this event was to bring entrepreneurs together to share insights and create valuable connections.
Furthermore, since our last AGM, we've made significant strides in furthering our mission. Our Board of Directors (BOD) meeting has resulted in the following strategies.
In the coming two years, TCCA will embark on strategic collaborations with various organizations, extending the benefits of our events to a broader audience. We will organize enlightening network seminars on entrepreneurship, business operations and cryptocurrency, enthralling golf tournaments set for November, and an exhilarating e-sport tournament. These events aim to enrich our members' experiences and open up TCCA to a broader audience.
Our top priority is to expand our membership base, forging a collaborative community that drives mutual success. We welcome all individuals and businesses with a vested interest in fostering strong Taiwanese-Australian business ties. To connect these events with our member base we are in the process of revamping our website as well as our social media accounts.
With the support of our capable team, TCCA is poised to achieve new heights of accomplishment, bolstering the economic and cultural bridge between Taiwan and Australia. Your involvement is crucial to our success, and I encourage you to stay connected and engaged as we work together towards a prosperous future.
